Hello, hello! Today we're talking about the local workouts that I've been loving! Recently I mentioned that I collaborated on a new project with ClassPass, which means that I've been a ClassPass workout crazy person. I think I'm sort of on a mission to try all of the awesome workouts that my health-conscious city of San Diego has to offer, and ClassPass is a great way to explore tons of studios in the area. Last week my friend Trish and I attended a ClassPass event at Core40 in Little Italy. You may recall me talking about Core40 in Solana Beach before because it's a total butt kicking workout, and this was the first time that I visited their downtown location. Since I live in the northern part of San Diego County, I haven't spent much time downtown lately. The class was ... [Read More]

20 Minute Cardio Blast Workout
Hi friends, and greetings from Las Vegas! I traveled to Vegas over the weekend for a work trip and will be here for most of the week. Before the "work" of my work trip really started, yesterday my co-workers and I had some fun outside of the Vegas strip, but more on that later, because today I've got a quickie workout to share! Even when traveling I still like to get some exercise in. If I'm on vacation, I usually find a place for that exercise outdoors in the form of hiking or biking, or just even just walking a ton being a tourist, but with work trips like this, I find myself mostly indoors in a convention center. I do walk an awful lot within the convention center - my poor feet always die wearing heels and other uncomfortable fancy shoes, and I think I was made to be ... [Read More]
My Latest Feel-Good Workout Playlist {March 2015}
Whenever I'm working out on my own, either at a gym or at home, one important factor is the music I'm listening to. I definitely exercise harder when I'm listening to good music, and if I'm kind of slacking, a good beat will get me moving faster. I have 2 categories of music I jam out to during sweat sessions: either what I think of as "fight" music, which includes any songs with almost angry lyrics that get me feeling pumped up - think Eminem and Jay-Z's "Renegade" or one of my favorites, Fall Out Boy's "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark" - or feel-good music that just makes me want to dance and move a lot. I can listen to the same few playlists for months if they have songs on them that I'm a big fan of, but then there comes a time when I need to switch it up and download some ... [Read More]
10 Fitness Friday Motivational Quotes
Happppy Friday! Since I love to workout and almost always feel great post-exercise, that must mean that I'm always excited to get my workout on. Right? Well not quite. Just like virtually everyone else, I have my days when I'm just not in the mood for the exercise session I had planned. This was the case yesterday, when I had finished work for the day, and it was time to fit in a workout before I had a Skype catch-up date with a girlfriend of mine who lives 1,000 miles away. I had been sitting at my desk working for awhile and was just sort of feeling tired, but I knew that there was no real good reason why I shouldn't workout, so instead, I spent a few minutes getting myself motivated with some exercise quotes. Here are my top 10 motivational fitness quotes on this lovely ... [Read More]
What Do You Look for in a Gym? My Must-Have List
Hi friends! I'm writing this on Thursday night, as I'm coasting on an exercise high from a workout that ClassPass hosted at The Rush Indoor Cycling Studio tonight. I had never been to the studio before, and found it to be a lot like SoulCycle (review of me trying that out in NYC here): a fast-paced cycling workout with good music and high energy. Thanks for hosting the fun event, ClassPass! Any other American readers have off of work on Monday for Presidents Day? I do, and I'm pretty excited for the long weekend! But back to fitness! Recently I talked about how I haven't been a member at a regular gym since moving last year. I decided that I'd like to shop around for a normal gym to possibly join. I did a free trial at a gym a few weeks ago, and while they had all of the ... [Read More]
Being Gym-less + Gigabody Online Fitness Class Subscription Giveaway
Ever since I was a teenager, I've belonged to a regular gym.... that is, until last year, when I moved and left my beloved, cozy gym full of friendly people and didn't begin a membership somewhere new. Since then I've tried out a few regular gyms, but haven't found one that I've loved enough to join as a member. While I'll probably join a gym sometime in the near future to switch things up, I certainly haven't been bored during these months. Between hiking around Southern Cali and other outdoor workouts, trying out a couple of new workouts with Groupon, doing a few fitness collaborations for the blog, including trying out ClassPass and working out at Fitwall, taking challenging classes instructed by my newly Lagree method certified friend (Core40 review here!), and working it out ...
