Hey, hey! Hope that you had a lovely weekend. My Marine was away for training all weekend and my birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, so I decided to spend some of the weekend treating myself to early birthday fun. I've talked numerous times on the blog about the idea of dating yourself. A couple of times a year I have a total "me" day, and I've made it an annual thing in recent years to do a birthday celebration day of sorts all on my own. Let's rewind it to the beginning of the weekend, shall we? After I finished working on Friday, I went for the massage I had mentioned wanting to get in this post about recent workouts. It was only half relaxing, as the other half of the time I was wincing in pain as things were crunching and getting unknotted, but it was much needed and ... [Read More]

Clevenger Canyon North Hike [Weekend Recap]
Clevenger Canyon North is a trail located in the SoCal countryside in the town of Ramona. I first heard about this hike when checking out a hiking book that covers trails within 60 miles of San Diego. Not surprisingly, I've already done most of the hikes that are moderate to difficult, but I jotted down a few that I hadn't done before, and Clevenger Canyon was one of them. ... [Read More]
My Current Favorite San Diego Studio Workouts {April 2015}
Hello, hello! Today we're talking about the local workouts that I've been loving! Recently I mentioned that I collaborated on a new project with ClassPass, which means that I've been a ClassPass workout crazy person. I think I'm sort of on a mission to try all of the awesome workouts that my health-conscious city of San Diego has to offer, and ClassPass is a great way to explore tons of studios in the area. Last week my friend Trish and I attended a ClassPass event at Core40 in Little Italy. You may recall me talking about Core40 in Solana Beach before because it's a total butt kicking workout, and this was the first time that I visited their downtown location. Since I live in the northern part of San Diego County, I haven't spent much time downtown lately. The class was ... [Read More]
Getting My Zen On at La Jolla’s Trilogy Sanctuary [Yoga Studio Review]
One of the many reasons that I dig living in San Diego is all of its awesome local businesses geared towards healthy living. There's no shortage of juice bars, veg eateries, fitness studios, spas, yoga centers and lots more around to explore. Being the wellness lover that I am, I experience these places as much as I can. I've teamed up with ClassPass again for a blogger project (more on that to come soon!), so lately I've been a fitness class maniac, booking classes at studios all over San Diego County in my never-ending attempt to find the best workouts in the area. Last week I journeyed over to the beautiful beach town of La Jolla to meet up with a girlfriend of mine for a yoga class at Trilogy Sanctuary. Immediately when I walked in, I was like all, Ooooh! So cute, I love ... [Read More]
Hiking to Potato Chip Rock [2015 Edition]
Hi friends! Hope that you had a great weekend. I've been back to the work grind on this Monday and have been busy, busy, busy! But I'm popping in to recap the highlight of my weekend with you guys: hiking to Potato Chip Rock! My cousin Michelle and I have been talking about getting together for a hike excursion for awhile, and set a date for last Saturday. She drove down from where she lives in Long Beach to stay the night at my place on Friday, and Saturday morning we set out to the Lake Poway Recreational Reserve. I hiked to Potato Chip Rock once before with my hubby 2+ years ago (recap here <-- throwback post!), so I was able to reference my blog post beforehand to jog my memory about the hike and see how long it took me the first time, as well as how I described the ...
