Recently I was having a conversation with someone who was mentioning that she finds it hard to stay in shape once she begins dating someone. I totally get it: when you get into a relationship, all of a sudden you might find yourself wanting to stay in bed and cuddle instead of rush to sunrise bootcamp; to go out to romantic restaurants and indulge in 6-course meals and all of the wine on a weekly basis. (source) But to me, being a healthy, confident, taken woman means finding balance between your romantic relationship, and the relationship you have with yourself. And a big part of that healthy self-relationship revolves around nourishing yourself with good food, being at a healthy weight, feeling attractive, and finding time for endorphin-boosting exercise and other healthful ... {Review} Cameron Diaz’s The Body Book
"The more consistent you are with [your] choices, the closer you come to being the happy, healthy, beautiful, glowing woman that you want to be. Being healthy and well is a lifelong endeavor. It's important to establish a relationship with your body, to understand what its needs are and how to fulfill those needs. To connect to how your choices affect you physically, mentally, and emotionally." I love a good book, but between work, blogging, and school, I find myself with not much time to read. Or when I do have time to give myself a few hours of relaxation at night, I just want to do something that requires little brainpower, like watch trashy TV. But at any given time, I'm in the middle of reading multiple interesting books. Sometime it takes me months upon months to finish them, but ... [Read More]

Ways to Get Out of Your Fitness Comfort Zone
There's nothing that sounds more boring to me than doing the same things day in and day out without variation. I like to be adventurous with pretty much everything - from the meals I make and the fun activities I partake in, to the workouts I do and even the walking and hike routes I go on with my dog. I think, Walking the same exact path every single day? How blah! I find that switching things up keeps life interesting, and also sometimes scary and exciting. Don't let fear of the unknown freak you out.... Scary and exciting is a good thing! (source) I suppose I could talk a good amount about comfort zones in general. I'm a girl who landed a freelance journalist gig for a newspaper after randomly contacting the editor and telling him that I'd be a great writer for him... with no ... [Read More]
