Today marks one year since my husband and I adopted Harley, our adorable, handful of a puppy who manages to make me laugh (and misbehaves!) every single day. Any dog owner would probably agree that our pups teach us much about life. In reflecting on this past year with her, I got to thinking about all of the lessons she reminds me of quite often: Live Each Day to the Fullest Every morning, Harley wakes up excited about life, rolling over to get a belly rub as her tail wags. She makes it hard for me to not be happy to see her and start my day. A 2012 Resolution in Action
A certain spoiled puppy was pretty happy she got to run around at the park for a bit this afternoon: Something about Harley sitting next to me in the passenger's seat looking out the window and making that face like she's ecstatic with life cracks me up. I was rewarded for my playtime efforts by getting some peace and quiet for the rest of the afternoon: Moving on to food, I threw together a nutrient dense side as part of my dinner tonight, which I'm deeming fruity guacamole for lack of a better term. Did you know avocado is a fruit? I just found this information out recently. For some reason I always thought of it as a veggie. Check out the cutie pies I got to play with last night at the San Diego Humane Society: If anyone out there lives in the San Diego area and is interested in rescuing a dog (or cat or bunny or even rat!), they have a special going on called My Furry Valentine. From now through Valentine's Day, the adoption fee for any animal is only $14! There were tons of people looking to adopt last night, and the two dogs above will most likely be gone very soon, but there are always a lot of dogs to look at and see if they're right for your home. And, in case you were wondering, the 9-month old Siberian Husky mix pictured above had to get her leg amputated after getting attacked by another dog.
