In case you’re wondering….
Let me provide a brief explanation as to what I do as a wellness coach!
A health coach serves as an advisor that provides ongoing support and guidance to clients as they set goals and make sustainable changes that improve their health and happiness. Throughout the course of your personalized program, a health coach helps you to navigate the world of contradictory nutrition advice to determine what works well for you.
As a health coach, I focus on not only diet and nutrition, but also principles of what’s called ‘primary food’ – which includes all aspects of your life other than diet that nourish you, including career, physical activity, spirituality and relationships. Throughout the program, I help you to find ways to crowd out unhealthy patterns and habits with healthier, more positive ones. We work together to achieve whatever health goals you may have, step by step.
How do health coaches fit into the healthcare system?
In Western medicine, doctors typically prescribe medicine and tend to not focus on the root of the problem, while nutritionists focus solely on what to eat and not eat. Health coaches have a place in improving the wellness of their clients by putting the focus on figuring out what their health challenges are, why they exist, and how we can work together to overcome them – resulting in happier, more healthful living.
