Looking for new nutrient-dense breakfast ideas? This round up features 7 healthy juice and smoothie recipes – one for every day of the week!
It feels like springtime has finally arrived in the northeast! The winters here seem to drag on & on (& on), so I’ve been excited to get outside & enjoy the sunshine now that it’s a bit nicer out. Something about springtime arriving makes me want to feel my healthiest… so I figured what better way to start off the first week of May than with a nutrient-packed juice or smoothie every morning of the week.
In fact, I made each of these juice & smoothie recipes last week. Each one offers a slew of nutritional benefits that will fuel your day right! From green (and orange!) juices, to smoothies that taste like dessert in a cup, this round up offers a variety of heart healthy, anti-inflammatory recipes to spice up your breakfast routine. They also make for great lunch or snack ideas.
I’ve included three juice recipes, for which you’ll need a juicer (or you could use a Vitamix and add water in), along with four smoothie recipes, where a high-powered blender is necessary. Let’s get to it!
7 Nutritious Juice & Smoothie Recipes
Clementine & Carrot Sunshine Juice
Made with antioxidant and beta carotene-packed clementines & carrots, along with fresh ginger and radishes, this recipe makes a small glass of juice that packs a powerful punch.

Chocolate Cake Batter Hemp Smoothie
I like to think that making healthy recipes that taste like dessert is my specialty. This chocolate hemp smoothie is a good example of that! This smoothie recipe is the perfect healthy way to satisfy chocolate cravings. It’s made with frozen banana, hemp hearts, peanut butter, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. As with many of the smoothies I make, I boost the protein content by including a plant-based protein powder.
I originally shared this smoothie as part of a partnership with Bob’s Red Mill, but any chocolate protein powder works in this recipe.

Green Monster Lemonade
Lemons are one of the things I constantly have in my fruit basket. I love it, and often squeeze fresh lemon into my drinks and salad dressings. This green monster lemonade combines fresh lemon with pear, apple, cucumber, leafy greens and mint (which is optional, but gives it a very fresh taste).

Anti-Inflammatory Banana Smoothie
This smoothie recipe stems from my love for golden milk. Made with turmeric, a spice with powerful medicinal properties that has strong ties to ancient Ayurveda medicine, it also contains frozen banana, cinnamon, ginger, hemp hearts, maple syrup and cashew milk.

Iron-Rich Superfood Chocolate Mint Smoothie
This delicious chocolate mint smoothie is made with frozen banana, oats, hemp hearts, cocoa powder, and a superfood greens supplement. One major benefit of this smoothie: It’s packed with iron!
The reason why I focused on iron sources with this recipe is because many people have iron deficiencies. This smoothie recipe is an easy way to consume a nice dose of iron, along with Vitamin A, Vitamin C, & calcium standard daily recommended amounts, plus healthy fats, fiber and protein.

Pear, Apple & Cinnamon Cleansing Green Juice
This juice really packs in the goodness! It’s similar to my green monster lemonade, but includes cinnamon and ginger root, which gives it a kick and is a great belly soother.

Kiwi Lime Smoothie
Ever since making a key lime pie for Easter, I’ve been craving lime desserts. So when I spotted a super old recipe on my blog for a kiwi lime smoothie, I knew I had to bring it back into my kitchen. Made with fresh kiwi, lime, and vanilla Greek yogurt (can use dairy free or regular), this smoothie is a unique way to use up those ripening kiwis – which are high in Vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber, to name a few perks.

We were just commenting the other day that it’s almost smoothie season! I know smoothies could technically work at any time of the year, but I just kinda want it to be warm(ish) outside first. I love the different ideas you have here, Nicole. I’m particularly intrigued by that clementine & carrots combo!

I totally get that! We do smoothies year round in my house, but I definitely start craving them more when warmer weather hits… and then I also get into making popsicles and smoothie bowls more! And clementine + carrot is a great juice combo!
