I find that people often ask me, "Do you have any easy dinner ideas to share?" The truth is, a lot of my weekday dinners are 30 minute or less meals - but this doesn't mean that I'm scrimping on nutrition and flavor. After all, eating mostly bland homemade dinners would make me a crappy foodie and food blogger, don't ya think? One thing I like to stress to those that ask me this question is that easy meals do not need to equate to unhealthy meals. I have a lot of simple go-to vegetarian dinner ideas, and in the spirit of easy, delicious, & nutritionally well-balanced dinners, today I'm sharing 5 of them with you. You'll notice that my dinners tend to put an emphasize on veggies - I'm all about real food! Rice & beans. I'll admit it that I'm not a huge meal prepper, ... [Read More]

Got the Winter Blues? 10 Ways to Better Embrace the Season
I've said it once, I'll say it a hundred times: I am by no means a winter person (okay, maybe I've mentioned it more than once on the blog...). I love being outside, and it's tough in most parts of America to be outdoors in the winter months when it's often below freezing, snowing, sleeting or raining. This season has been my first time living in months and months of winter in a decade. My California born and raised dog is used to going on long walks year round, and this sometimes hasn't been fun this winter when the weather isn't great. Just the other day as we were sliding around on ice and snow in the neighborhood while my face was freezing and my hands were going numb underneath my gloves, I could feel it dampen my mood. But with a month to go of the official winter ... [Read More]
No Bake Vegan Strawberry Cheesecake
Last Valentine's Day, my husband and I went on a typical kind of February 14th date - which is rare for us. Normally, we like to do something adventurous, like kayaking or hiking together, but other years I've cooked one of his favorite meals and we'll stay in and pop open a bottle of nice wine. But last year was our closest thing to a cheesy candlelit lovey dovey V-Day date... only it actually was super memorable and not at all the norm that most people probably think of for a dinner out on the holiday of love. On V-Day night, we ventured over to the La Jolla area of San Diego for a rooftop dinner at Trilogy Sanctuary, a vegan cafe and yoga studio that I adore. We were expecting a 3-course dinner with live music on the cafe's relaxing outdoor patio, and Trilogy did not disappoint. From ... [Read More]
7 Ways to Kickstart a Healthy Lifestyle Right Now
Disclaimer: This post contains sponsored links. As always, all opinions expressed are genuinely my own. Happy February friends! How have you been keeping up with healthy habits in 2019 so far? An upper respiratory thing kind of bogged me down for a lot of January (It kept coming and going and I couldn't shake it for weeks - so annoying!), and even though I was feeling under the weather, I was still determined to make mostly healthy choices. I'm looking forward to February being a month with lots of good sweat sessions, healthy, delicious food and positive vibes. I have a busy month on my weekend social calendar, with plans to have a girls' day in NYC, have friends from Boston visit one weekend, and to take my mom to a play in Jersey one night. I'm also in the process of ... [Read More]
