The snow is coming down, the temperatures are freezing, and I'm sitting here thinking about how much I wanted to try to reframe my mindset around winter upon relocating to the northeast last year, but how the fact is that I am not a fan of this long, cold season... and I don't think I ever will be. BUT... I'm focusing on the fact that a couple weeks ago, I booked an island getaway to Turks & Caicos. T-1 month until my husband and I are laying on this white sand beach soaking up the sunshine, swimming in the crystal clear water and straight up relaxing. I imagine there will also be bike riding, good food, and beach yoga, and I can't wait! Thinking about my upcoming tropical trip put me in mood for island flavors. Despite the chilly temps these days, I'm still enjoying smoothies a ... [Read More]

5 Ways to Motivate Yourself to Workout
Disclaimer: The following post is sponsored by adidas. As always, all opinions expressed are genuinely my own. One of my favorite health mantras is, "By being a little less perfect, you'll be more consistent." For years, it's been a reminder to me that a healthy lifestyle means having a positive relationship with yourself, the food you eat, the exercise you do and more. It's all about overall healthy habits that are done consistently, with wiggle room allowed for when life happens and you aren't "perfect." It's the last week of January, which unfortunately means that lots of people have already given up on their healthy living resolutions for the year. Luckily I haven't woken up gasping for air in awhile, and I think I may have outgrown the condition if possible. I've never been one to fall asleep on planes (red eyes are guaranteed to be a little torturous) and I'm jealous of people that can seemingly pass out in a moment's time. My dad is one of those ... These healthy veggie burger sliders are made with nutritious ingredients like quinoa, baby spinach, carrot and red onion. They make for a great party appetizer that you can feel good about eating! Did any of you watch the College National Championship between Alabama and Clemson's talented football teams? Chances are that you were just as surprised as I was - along with all of the betting sites - at the way Clemson kicked Alabama's butt. That's why I love football: You never know what's going to happen! My football coaching dad had a player at his high school that went on to play really well at Bama. He left as a junior last year and got drafted to the Dolphins (where he's been playing great), so I couldn't help but think how perfect it was that he left after Bama won the ... [Read More]
30 Inspirational Quotes for Living Boldly, Healthily & Authentically
In 2017, I began sharing a quote on Instagram every Monday. I've always been an inspirational quote lover, and it was fun to find a quote of the week to share. In 2018, I sort of did away with always posting the quote on Mondays, but I continued to share words of wisdom just about every week that resonated with whatever was happening in my life at the time. Since I know that many of you also look to quotes as a way to motivate, I thought it'd be fun to share some of my favorite quotes that I posted in 2018. These words of wisdom have energized me and reminded me of what I want to focus on in life, and I hope that they speak to you in the same way. Enjoy! 1.) Be your own kind of beautiful. We constantly have the media and people around us tell us what we should look like and behave, ... [Read More]
