I believe that mindful eating is such an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Having a connection to the food you eat is one of the simple pleasures in life, whether that means growing produce in your garden, cooking marinara sauce from scratch, roaming farmers’ markets to nab locally grown/made food, sharing your kitchen creations with your loved ones, or buying products with ingredients and company practices you stand behind. I try to do all of the above often!
Appreciating the food you put in your body every single day is such an easy way to practice mindfulness. Life can get so busy and become so full of information overload at times, but savoring the food I nourish myself with is a go-to way for me to simply enjoy the moment.
Recently I shared a few healthy living mantras I’ve been using during what has been a chaotic, transitional time in my life. One of my mantras is to stick to the basics, and one my kitchen staples is yogurt. It’s high in protein and easy to take on-the-go, and there are endless ways to incorporate it into bigger meals.
I’m pretty picky about the dairy that I buy, and one brand that I’ve been loving is Wallaby organic yogurt. They make Aussie inspired Greek yogurt that’s slow-crafted in small batches using premium organic ingredients. It’s creamy and delicious!
I’ve often been eating Wallaby yogurt just with some fruit on top (their Greek nonfat/lowfat lemon yogurt with blueberries on top is such a great combo!) , but I also am a huge fan of incorporating yogurt into recipes. It’s an easy way to sneak in some extra nutrients and protein, and today I’m sharing 5 of my favorite recipes that feature yogurt. Let’s get to it!
Tropical berry breakfast tacos. Do you ever make tacos for breakfast? I recently created this tropical berry breakfast taco recipe using fresh fruit like mango, blueberries, strawberries & coconut, yogurt, and an almond butter syrup drizzle. Wallaby’s peach, key lime, blueberry and vanilla yogurts are all yummy yogurt pairings.
Yogurt is a star of this 6-ingredient chocolate Greek yogurt fruit dip. Whip it up in 5 minutes flat and serve with your favorite fresh fruit for dessert!
I’ve been making a smoothie pretty much every day lately, and my go-to combo has been an easy berry banana protein smoothie.
The recipe I’ve been whipping up lately is as follows:
- 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/2 cup Wallaby vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 2/3 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 TBSP cocoa powder
- Toppings such as blueberries, chocolate chips, coconut, nut butter, etc.
Probably one of the most creative ways I’ve used yogurt lately is for strawberry matcha cheesecake cups. Incorporating yogurt was one way that I lightened up the dessert recipe to be around 200 calories a serving.

Looking for a new snack recipe? Whip up these raspberry lemon protein muffins. Any of Wallaby vanilla, raspberry or lemon yogurt flavors work well in this recipe.
Tell me… What’s one of your go-to food staples?

We always keep yogurt around the house! Usually it turns into breakfast, but I love using it for marinades and baking, too. And we went on a smoothie kick about a week ago, too…I forgot how much I like smoothies! A flavorful yogurt + a banana are my keys to a good smoothie…from there, you can just add whatever you like. Thanks so much for the other fun ideas here, Nicole!

I’m with you, I pretty much always put banana in my smoothies too!

Yogurt is something we always keep in the house! Although these days I can’t use the dairy ones anymore – stinks – they just don’t agree with me. Loving the sound of these recipes! I’ve been baking up muffins like crazy lately lol

Ugh yea, I remember reading in one of your posts that dairy isn’t working for your body these days… bummer! But luckily there are some decent non-dairy options out there nowadays, so you can still get your yogurt fix!
