Happy Monday! Let's talk soup, shall we? We're in the last few days of October, and this month I've become a soup making queen. Every fall and winter I usually get obsessed with homemade soup for dinner, but I have a feeling this is going to be even more true this year since I'm now living in the chilly northeast. When the temperatures are in the 50s and below, I crave soup every other day. Nothing says cold weather comfort food to me like a big warm bowl of healthy soup with a hunk of bread on the side! And so, today I'm sharing my first soup recipe of the season. I'm taking a classic soup recipe, potato leek, and putting my own twist on it. Typically potato leek soup contains cream and/or butter, but my recipe leaves out the dairy - yet it's still creamy and delicious, I promise! I ... [Read More]

Who Inspires You? \\ Celebrating My Mom
Disclaimer: The following post is sponsored by adidas. As always, all opinions expressed are genuinely my own. Who inspires you? There are a lot of women who inspire me to be a healthy, driven woman. I have friends who amaze me after giving birth, running marathons, or have amazing injury recoveries (and sometimes all three!). I think of powerful women I don't even know that have been inspirational - athletes like Serena Williams and plus-size models rocking their bodies with confidence like Ashley Graham. But in teaming up with adidas to talk about who has inspired me the most throughout my life, the answer was a no brainer: my mom. My mom has been inspiring me to be a strong woman for as long as I can remember. She raised 4 kids while being committed to a healthy ... [Read More]
4 Places to Go Wine Tasting in Temecula
When I first moved to Southern California, I was pretty excited to live just a short drive away from the San Diego area's wine region, known as Temecula Valley. I would bring visiting family and friends there to go gallivanting around the area's wineries tasting wine, noshing on snacks, listening to live music, and enjoying the beautiful wine country scenery. This year, Temecula celebrated the 50th anniversary of its first commercial vineyard. These days, over 40 wineries exist in the small region. It's just a drive away for residents of San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange County, so it's a popular spot for city dwellers to have a weekend country getaway. In fact, my husband and I visited Temecula in August for my birthday, and we've spent weekends there for our anniversary and ... [Read More]
Herbed Pomegranate Goat Cheese Crostini
Have you been getting a chance to soak up all of the in-season produce yet this autumn? Lately my cooking and baking has been limited because I moved cross country, and then I was staying in an Airbnb without a legit kitchen for over a month. Plus, I've been pre-occupied with trying to find a new home in Connecticut... BUT I have news to share! After much time and effort spent into looking to buy a place here, my husband and I decided to put our buying plans on hold and to rent a townhouse for 6 months. This move has been incredibly stressful, and sometimes when nothing is going according to plan, you have to recalibrate. We moved into the townhouse last weekend, and I will be spending the next couple of days unpacking and getting settled in... and I am so excited to have all of ... [Read More]
5 Awesome Recipes that Use Yogurt
Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Wallaby Organic Greek Yogurt and Kefir. As always, all opinions expressed are genuinely my own. I believe that mindful eating is such an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Having a connection to the food you eat is one of the simple pleasures in life, whether that means growing produce in your garden, cooking marinara sauce from scratch, roaming farmers' markets to nab locally grown/made food, sharing your kitchen creations with your loved ones, or buying products with ingredients and company practices you stand behind. I try to do all of the above often! Appreciating the food you put in your body every single day is such an easy way to practice mindfulness. Life can get so busy and become so full of information overload at times, but ... [Read More]
