Hi friends! Who is looking forward to Easter weekend? Growing up we always did a big family gathering, but I haven't really made a big thing of Easter since I've been living far away from my family. I'm excited for a long weekend though, since work has been crazy busy and after I hit publish on this post I'm planning on doing little to no work. I'm staying local and will hopefully be doing some fun new San Diego area things! But today, I want to look back a few months and share a recap from my vacation in the Southern Spanish area of Malaga. I feel like I've shared so many recaps of this trip because it was such an amazing time packed with lots of adventure. Today is my last post about the trip, and we're talking about my favorite vegetarian eats around Malaga! While we ... [Read More]

Baked Strawberry Donuts with Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting {vegan}
Healthier than your typical fried donuts, these vegan baked donuts use fresh strawberries, oats & cashew butter in the batter, & are topped with a strawberry cream cheese frosting! I haven't shared a sweet tooth recipe with you in a solid six weeks. The madness! Truth be told, I've been doing a lot of experimenting in the kitchen with new snack & dessert recipes, but many of them have been freelance projects. But today I'm back with a very delicious donut recipe... my very first donut recipe on the blog! Over the holidays, my hubby's grandmom & mom gave us a gift card to Stonewall Kitchen, and I went ahead & purchased something I'd been meaning to nab for awhile... a donut pan! I've been playing around with my first batches of homemade donuts, & ... [Read More]
My Recent Workouts: Rocking Reformer Pilates, Cycling, Boxing & Hike Sweat Sessions {Jan-March ’18}
Happy Spring! Can you believe that we're almost a quarter into 2018? It's crazy how time flies! I feel like these months have sped by so quickly. Today seems like a good time to recap my recent workouts with you all. For anyone new here, I usually do a recent workout post every couple of months to chat about the most challenging workouts I've done, fun new local fitness studios and events I've been to, and to share my fitness goals for the upcoming months. At the start of the year, I decided that I wanted to regularly go to more tough classes, so one thing I did was re-join ClassPass. I collaborated with them when they first came to San Diego a few years ago, and I honestly love being able to bounce around to different studios. It's perfect for someone that gets bored easily in ... [Read More]
5 Awesome Wineries to Visit in Paso Robles, California
“Paso Robles is the wild west of California wine.” A couple of weekends ago, my hubby and I went on a long weekend getaway up to Paso Robles to relax, drink some wine, eat some good food, hike a bit, and enjoy central California wine country. I find that it's hard for people who haven't spent a lot of time around California to understand how massive it is. I remember when I moved up to the San Jose area from San Diego (and later, vice versa), family members of mine thought it would be a short drive away and were shocked when I told them it was almost a 10-hour drive! But that's one of the many things that I think is so cool about California. We've gone on countless road trips while never even leaving the state. For a Jersey girl, that was a pretty wild phenomena that took ... [Read More]
Easy Tomato, Pasta & Zucchini Soup {vegan}
I find March to be a sort of in between strange time of the year. We've sprung ahead an hour and the official spring season starts in a couple days, but in most places in America, it's still wintery. I know that you northeasterners just had a snow storm, and it's looking like there's a good chance for more snow this week. Meanwhile in the San Diego area, last weekend we had a rainy Saturday - and not even just a drizzle here and there. It was a full-blown rainy day like the rest of the country often gets. We've also had some daytime temperatures in the 50s lately, which is pretty much as cold as it gets here (no complaints here). So, even though it's about to be springtime, I find myself craving soup throughout March and sometimes well into the season. I love having soup for dinner, and ... [Read More]
Vegetarian Eating in Barcelona
Hey friends! Today I'm back with another recap from my trip to Spain a few months ago. A few weeks ago I talked about some of my favorite sightseeing in Barcelona, and today I want to share where I ate vegetarian in the city. In addition to my favorite Barcelona eats, you'll also find some suggestions of other veg-friendly places that I had scoped out but didn't have a chance to dine at. Even though I was only in Barcelona for a couple of days, I did a lot of research beforehand to take note of some restaurants that I definitely wanted to try. I had heard that there were a good amount of options to eat meat-free in Barcelona - yippee! - so I had high expectations for food there. After all, the food is a big part of a trip for me. I know that all of you fellow foodies can ... [Read More]
