Hi friends!
Can you guys believe that we’re halfway through August? I actually can because I’m currently in Jersey with my family, where it’s been sweltering out as only August can be! Last weekend I was in Philly, and at 97 degrees and crazy humidity, it was just too hot to walk around much. It felt like a sauna every time I stepped outside!
The place to be in this heat is definitely on the water, and fortunately I’ve gotten the chance to be out on both my parents’ and my father-in-law’s boats this trip. It’s sweet relief to feel the breeze in your hair when it’s so humid + hot out!
I haven’t been doing too much exercise outdoors while I’ve been on the east coast for fear of melting, but this summer when I’ve been home in California, I’ve been enjoying my latest outdoor workout gear: my Beats Powerbeats2 Wireless Bluetooth Headphones.
The lovely folks with AT&T San Diego recently sent me the headphones to try out, and I’ve been loving having wireless earbuds to listen to my favorite playlists while I’m hiking and biking.
The Powerbeats2 are so much more convenient than having wired headphones. I just slip the earbuds in my ears, throw my iPhone in my backpack, and I’m off! No tangled wires, no having to carry my phone in my hands. The sound quality is great, and I haven’t had any signal issues at all.
While I admittedly haven’t thoroughly tested this theory out yet, the headphones have the ability to connect up to 30 feet from your Bluetooth-enabled device – which also would make them perfect for the gym when I bounce around using different equipment and leave my phone/towel/water in one spot nearby. The next time I find myself in a regular gym working out, I’ll be testing out the signal range more!
The headphones are lightweight and easy to use. For some reason I tend to have an issue with headphones not fitting me right and falling out of my ears a lot, but the Powerbeats2 feel comfortable and seem to stay in pretty well. I also like that I have the option to pick up calls with my headphones during workouts. They’re also water resistant – which is necessary for my sweaty outdoor workouts in the hot San Diego sun!
The Powerbeats2 headphones feature a rechargeable battery with 6-hour playback. I’m finding that I usually need to charge it right near the 6-hour use mark, which is around 4 workouts for me. It’d be nice if they had a bit of a longer battery life, but it’s not a big deal to remember to charge them every couple of workouts.
Thus far, I’m loving the headphones as a convenient way to jam out to music while working out. My husband has used them too during his long bike rides, and after his first time wearing them, he reported to me that they “worked like a dream.” It’s safe to say that our household is giving the Powerbeats2 headphones 2 thumbs up!
The Beats Powerbeats2 Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Headphones retail for $199 and are available at AT&T stores.
Tell me… Do you use wireless headphones? What’s your favorite new workout gear?
Disclaimer: While I received complimentary headphones from AT&T, as always, all opinions expressed are genuinely my own.

These headphones sound great! I think I might put them on my birthday wish list for when I go running.

I hope that you do!

I need to get some wireless – I’m nervous because I am like you with the issue trying to get a pair that fit my ears.

Yeah I don’t get it, I’m like, “Are my ear holes really small or something??” Ha!

I love my bluetooth headphones. I used to get so tangled up in my other headphones.

Ah yes, wireless is so much better right!

These headphones sound great! We recently bought some workout equipment for at home (we realized that getting back to a gym isn’t happening anytime soon with Robbie). But Laura was having trouble with her headphones not being long enough. I ended up grabbing her a headphone extender cable, but I’m thinking these could be a good birthday gift. I’ll have to see if the machine she rides has Bluetooth. Thanks for the idea, Nicole!! 🙂

Definitely, David! They will be 100% better than a headphone extender cable 🙂

MY SISTER gave me those for XMAS a year or two ago – and um, I think I have used them once? LOL! My fiance recently found them among the pile of crap I have and loves them though – so at least someone is using them! 😉 I don’t typically listen to music/pod casts/etc though, that’s why I don’t use them! ha.

It really has been sweltering here on the East Coast! I stay inside as much as possible since it’s just so brutal out! Kinda makes me sad! But anyway … these headphones sound pretty interesting .. I’m always a tangled mess with all the cords!

Ugh I used to be too… plus I’m the WORST with de-tangling them, so I would just let them get more & more tangled! When my husband and I were dating, one time he was like, “There’s one thing I don’t like about you… You let your headphones get SO tangled and then when I steal them I can’t stand using them!” LOL
