When I think of the start to a new year, I think of a fresh start.... excitement at a whole new year to set goals, go on adventures and start new ventures. What I don't think of is laying on the couch because I'm too exhausted to do anything or talk to anyone with my hoarse, sore throat - a box of tissues in hand, the constant taste of herbal lozenges in my mouth, an inhaler nearby in case I go into another coughing fit, continuous cups of hot tea being sipped, ear drops handy to crackle and pop my ears, and not being able to hear anything well because my ears and head are completely clogged. Well my friends, as we all know, sometimes life throw you not so fun little curveballs, and me being the sickest I've ever been in my adult life was the way I started 2016. Typically I rarely get ... 5 Stretches To Do Every Morning
One of my favorite ways to start my day is with a quick yoga session or HIIT workout. While it's my natural personality to tend to look on the bright side of things, I've really made an effort over the last bunch of years to live more consciously and ... [Read More]
2015 Holiday Vacation Highlights
Hi friends, and Happy New Year! I had 12 days off of work for my holiday break, and not surprisingly, it just zoomed by. My hubby and I flew to the East coast to spend the holidays with our families in Jersey, and had a packed schedule full of fun. I had set up a few blog posts that published while I was out of town, and really took a break from blogging, email, and my computer in general. I also only posted a few times on social media the entire trip. I love being connected, but it was a much needed break. I thought it'd be fun to recap my holiday break today and share what I've been up to. Let's get to it! We spent Christmas at my parents' house. I made a bunch of dishes for the holiday, including this healthier apple crumb pie (recipe via Making Thyme for ... [Read More]
