Hello and Happy Friday!
You may remember that a few months back I started a post series where I highlight an eatery, bar, or winery within San Diego County. There are so many great places nearby, and I thought it’d be fun to share more of that with you guys. Last time I talked about Elizabethan Desserts in Encinitas, and today I’m putting the San Diego spotlight on a restaurant called Crepes and Corks Restaurant & Wine Bar.
I first visited Crepes & Corks not long after I moved to the San Diego area. Crepes have a special place in my heart, and combining them with wine? Sounds like a good time in my book!
Crepes remind me of studying abroad in Italy, and of roaming the streets of Thailand on vacation gobbling up irresistible crepes from street vendors…
…and Crepes & Corks brings the crepe awesomeness to the adorable beach town of Del Mar. I happen to have just dined there earlier this week when I met up with my friend Tiffany for some wine & eats, so my love for Crepes & Corks is fresh in my mind! Let’s discuss more of what they’re all about.
Crepes & Corks has a European sort of feel to it. It’s casual and cozy, with a nice outdoor patio area. The menu features both savory and sweet crepes, including Greek, Margherita, and Veggie Garden entree crepes…
Not surprisingly, what I love the most is their sweet crepes.
Their sweet crepe offerings include:
- Nutella Delight with strawberry & banana slices, Nutella & whipped cream
- Raspberry Truffle with raspberry preserves & dark chocolate
- Dark Belgian Chocolate with roasted almonds & whipped cream
- Banana Bahama with banana slices, coconut, roasted almonds, powdered sugar, cinnamon & whipped cream
All sweet crepes can be ordered with gelato to make it even more awesome. But the menu isn’t limited just to crepes. The bistro also offers a variety of appetizers, soups, salads and panini items. While there are many options for meat eaters (no surprise there), they also have a lot of vegetarian choices. Their crepes can be made gluten free, and Crepes & Corks also offers freshly made cupcakes.
And let’s not forget about the wine! Crepes & Corks offers a variety of both local and imported wine, with options from a number of California wine regions, Italy, Argentina, Spain, France, and Chile, among other areas.
Crepes & Corks has happy hour specials from 3-6. When I was there earlier this week, all wines were $2 off a glass. They also offer bottomless mimosas on Saturdays, and $6 Bloody Mary’s on Sundays.
My visit there this week was the first time I’d ordered their cheese & fruit plate, and it did not disappoint. I love that it had a few different kinds of fruit, including pear, apple and dried cranberries… and you guys should know by now that appetizer dinners are my favorite kind of dinners (even more so when wine is involved)!
Price-wise, Crepes & Corks is reasonable. Earlier this week my friend and I both ordered two glasses of wine, then split the above cheese & fruit plate + a sweet crepe, and we each paid $30. Well worth the price for yummy eats, drinks & dessert all in one! I left feeling satisfied and just the right amount of full.
Tell me… Are you a fan of crepes? When faced with the choice, do you most often pick sweet or savory?

This looks so good! There are too many good places to eat here. I love crepes – the last one I had was at a train station in France. Nutella and banana.
We need to get together again post-Turkey Day. I’m dragging Carly away from school work this time too. 🙂
