Happy almost Halloween!
Anyone doing anything fun for it? Unfortunately I won’t be dressing up because we don’t have any Halloween obsessed friends that are throwing parties this year, but I love celebrating the holiday anyways. To me, Halloween kicks off the holiday season, which I always love (I know, too soon! Although Home Depot is already decked out for Christmas…).
I love seeing all of the cute kid costumes from our trick-or-treaters. But since I don’t have any kiddos to dress up, I’ll be making Harley wear her headless horsemen rider outfit probably all day today and tomorrow…
She hates it and it’s hilarious. When she runs, the headless horseman starts falling to the side, and then she turns around and tries to bite it off. It’s pretty entertaining (though it may be considered mildly torturous to her)!
Getting into the Halloween spirit, here are some other Halloween-ish things I’m diggin’ at the moment:
THIS spooky workout, which I first posted last Halloween. I love quick, butt-kicking workouts that get your heart pumping immediately!
Pumpkin carving, which A and I will be doing tonight! We have an annual contest each year.
Pumpkin Beer Soft Pretzels via Baking A Moment. Um, I think I need to try making these ASAP.
Caramel apples, which we’ll be eating during our pumpkin carving evening. For our annual pumpkin carving night I just get store-bought ones, but I’d love to make homemade caramel apples sometimes in November!
And on the topic of caramel, I kind of just want to dive into a sea of the above pictured Halloween Caramel Corn via Spiced.
Pumpkin cinnamon pancakes. The ones I’ve been making lately are similar to this pancake recipe, but I’ve been including dark chocolate chips in the batter and on top, and drizzling raw local honey. Such a yummy pancake treat!
Tell me… Halloween – do you love it, hate it, or feel so-so about it? What Halloween-related thing are you diggin’?

Now I’m crushing on all of these Halloween recipes too! I’m having a serious craving for sugar at the moment, and those pancakes… and that popcorn… and those pretzels all look to die for!

Awwh, your dog looks adorable dressed up. I wanted to dress my cats up, but they would HATE it, and scratch me.
I love Halloween, because it starts my favourite time of the year. Yay!

That costume is adorable! I really wanted to dress up my cat, but I knew she’d hate it so I saved her the torture.
I opted out this year too and stayed home to watch The Gift. Scary!

Those pretzels look so yum! Harley is such a cutie pie. I think it is hilarious that she tries to bite the headless horseman off!

I love that you dressed up your dog for Halloween, haha!! We didn’t even attempt a costume with Paisley this year, they usually last for about 10 minutes! But like you, I’m always excited for the Holiday season!

cute doggie! pet costumes are fun!
ooh that workout routine sounds like something i need to try! the only thing i’m confused about is “for a total of 3 rounds.” does that mean in the end we have done 600 jumping jacks? or do we only run through that exercise twice total? i guess i should try it and find out how far i make it! =P
foodielovesfitness says
Nope, that means you should do each exercise three times TOTAL. Go through the entire sequence once, then repeat the whole thing two times more… so 300 jumping jacks by the time you finish 🙂
