Pretty much everyone that knows me know that I have a sweet tooth. I have an extensive array of chocolate treats in my kitchen pantry at any given time, and it’s nearly impossible for me to walk past a bakery full of yummy looking sweets without letting out an, “Ooooh! Look at those ______ (cupcakes/caramel apples/cookies/brownies/etc).”
While I definitely indulge in sweets here and there, I also have plenty of recipes and go-to eats that satisfy my sweet tooth while still packing a nutritious punch. I’m always on the lookout for new products that can pass for dessert, but are also healthy enough to be a pre-workout snack or remedy for midday munchies. That’s why when the folks at ProYo reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try their high protein frozen yogurt tubes, I was immediately on board.
So what’s ProYo?
ProYo is a high protein frozen yogurt that comes in 4 oz tubes and is offered in 4 flavors: vanilla bean, banana vanilla, Dutch chocolate and blueberry pomegranate.
What’s in ProYo fro yo?
ProYo’s frozen yogurt tubes each contain about 140 calories, 2 grams of fat, 16 g of carbs, 13 g of sugar, and the best part? 20 grams of protein! They contain rBST-free & rBGH-free whey protein, probiotics, and are sweetened with pure sugar and stevia.
My thoughts on ProYo?
I found that they make for a great snack, especially when I also wanted to up my protein intake for the day. ProYo fro yo has a different taste and bit of a different texture than regular fro yo or light ice cream, which is the case for every protein frozen treat I’ve tried, but ProYo was nice and creamy at the same time.
Not surprisingly, my favorite ProYo flavor was chocolate. My least favorite was the blueberry pomegranate – mostly because while I love blueberries, I’m not really big on blueberry flavored things.
As for any cons, the only negative to me was the fact that you have to wait a good 5-10 minutes for the ProYo tubes to defrost before eating. Otherwise it’s tough to squeeze the fro yo out of the tubes – trust me I really tried when I was super hungry one day! Not a big deal, it’s just something to keep in mind to know that if you buy ProYo, pop one out of the box, and try to eat it right away, it’ll be hard to push the treat out.
You can view ProYo’s product page to learn more about their protein fro yo flavors, and you can check out their store locator page to see if ProYo is sold in stores near you here.
Tell me… Have you ever heard of/tried ProYo? Are you more of a chocolate or vanilla person?
Chocolate all the way baby!
Disclaimer: While ProYo provided me with free product to try, as always, all opinions expressed are genuinely my own.

Oh I love the idea of fro yo with protein. That’s genius! I would either be too impatient to wait for them or get distracted by the baby and totally forget about it. Haha!

I agree – now I can eat fro yo and consider it a viable post-workout snack option! 😉

I’m always on the hunt for something dessert-like too. These sounds good! I’m all over the chocolate. Banana… I’m like you are with blueberries. Love bananas, can’t stand banana-flavored stuff.

I’m the same with bananas too usually! But I actually didn’t mind ProYo’s banana flavor.

I came over here because I had no idea how to eat it! You can’t push a frozen anything, and too hard to bite. I thought, maybe tear the carton off?
foodielovesfitness says
Let it sit out for a good 10 minutes, then you’ll be able to push it out & eat it pretty easily!
