“Keep close to Nature’s heart … and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.” – John Muir
Happy Earth Day!
You may remember that a few weeks ago I shared a new playlist that I’ve been rocking out to. Well, when I get on a music downloading and playlist arranging kick, I don’t stop at just one playlist. Besides my latest feel-good workout playlist, I also came up with a new playlist to listen to while I practice yoga.
Besides yoga, I’ve also been listening to this playlist during stretch/foam rolling sessions. It’d also be a good one for those who do barre workouts on their own. The playlist is a combo of slower jams (i.e. Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down”) and more fast-paced songs (like Imagine Dragon’s “I Bet My Life”), and I’m pretty sure that I’m going to keep listening to it for months to come!
Speaking of yoga, check out the article I just wrote for Nubry.com about 5 ways to fit yoga into your busy day here!
Tell me… Are you loving any of the above songs too? Do you have a specific playlist for slower paced workouts?

Great list! I love the song Magic! I bet those songs are amazing for Yoga. I am going to check out that article you wrote about how to incorporate yoga more. I want to get more into it, but I only find about 30 minutes of time for exercising every day and yoga isn’t my first pick.. though I really want to get more into it! 🙂 I keep reading more and more benefits of yoga so I really need to try it out more!

I TOTALLY understand what you mean… Most days, if I’m limited on time for workouts, I want to do something that gets me sweating a lot and my heart rate up. Hope you checked out the article and got a few ideas of how to squeeze some yoga in!

Great collection! I love so many of those songs and there are a few I’ve never heard before that I need to check out. I have a few slower songs for cool downs on my run but not a specific playlist. I think it’s a great idea though!
foodielovesfitness says
Yeah, slower playlists are great for yoga, stretching sessions, barre, cool downs… or as background music during dinner sometimes!

Now I need to go on YouTube and remind myself of what all these songs sound like!
PS: my boyfriend used to be Gavin DeGraw’s drummer 😉

That’s awesome!!

It’s strange, I LOVE music, but I never listen to music when I do yoga. I might give it a try and see how it changes my practice.
foodielovesfitness says
Interesting. Maybe no music helps you to better pay attention to your breath throughout your practice or something? I really like music during yoga!

I have ONE playlist and it is fast-paced, make me run or spin fast music. haha. I either listen to upbeat music, or nothing at all when I workout. I keep hearing some old school songs on Sirius though, and I need to download some new songs! haha

Nothing at all?! I feel like I would barely move if I did cardio without music bahaha
