A few days ago I got a WordPress alert on my phone telling me that it had been THREE years since my first WordPress post. Wow, the years have completely sped by!
It’s crazy to think about how when I started blogging, I had no idea what a great part of my life it would become. My hubby had just deployed, and I decided to start what was then called Foodie Meets Fitness as a new hobby and a way to share more of my day-to-day life and recipes with loved ones 2,500 miles away. Since then there has been a lot of change and growth around here!
At the beginning I didn’t really get involved too much with the healthy living blogger community. Fast forward to now, and I’ve met so many amazing people through the blogging world and gotten to do so many cool things. There tend to be many similarities that I share with other health bloggers, and I enjoy getting to meet others that also feel passionate about food, fitness and health. I’m now a brand ambassador for FitFluential, Fit Approach, Girls Gone Sporty, and Cocogo, work with BlogHer, and have been able to connect with so many people and have had some great opportunities through my collaborations.
Along the way, this blog has definitely evolved a lot. I transitioned over to a self-hosted site (whew, what a pain that was!) and redesigned my site look, and my blog writing style and picture editing skills have definitely gotten way better (though I still have work to do!) – but the content itself is still the same. I still talk about the food I’m making and eating, the workouts I’m doing and coming up with, the fun I’m having living in California, and every and any healthy living topic that I find interesting.
Through creating this blog, I’ve gained a lot of clarity about the things that I’m passionate about. After I started Foodie Loves Fitness, I came to the realization that I’m meant to incorporate healthy living into my career. I began freelance writing, and spent all of last year learning at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Receiving my health coaching certification was just the beginning of what I hope will be a lot of involvement in the health world and in making a difference in people’s lives.

It is so fun! Having a blog is like having this whole journal of your life to look back at. I should take the time to look back more often at older posts!

Hi Nicole! I stumbled upon your blog today. Congrats on 3 years!! That is exiting. You have a great blog and I am excited to see more of it. I am also a vegetarian and love “meeting” more healthy food bloggers who share that same philosophy. And I can always use more fitness/exercise motivation since I love food so much! 🙂 I love that you incorporate both food and fitness! Glad I found you!
