Happy Friday everyone!
Greetings from New Jersey! My hubby and I arrived in the northeast late last night. I’m really looking forward to spending the holidays with our families. There’s going to be a lot of baking, cooking, drinking, and celebrating in my life this trip, so I will be making sure to balance it out a bit with a couple of workouts as well.
Whenever I’m back in my home state visiting, I find ways to squeeze in workouts. Sometimes my mom and I do exercise DVDs in the living room together, and other times I make up routines to bang out first thing in the morning before my day of visiting with everyone starts.
Lately I’ve been digging HIIT workouts – which stands for High Intensity Interval Training, and is when you alternate short bursts of intense exercise with short periods of recovery. I love them because I’m so focused on the interval timing and the exercise that I’m doing at that moment, that the workouts totally speed by.
So in the spirit of the holidays and my love for HIIT, here’s an at-home 30-minute HIIT holiday workout that I created!
Tell me.. Are you traveling for the holidays or staying put where you live? Do you do HIIT workouts?
Anna says
You have me craving a good glass of red wine now, and it’s 12:30 pm! It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, right? 🙂
We’re staying in the general area for the holidays but always end up renting a car and going from family to family during the holidays so it almost feels like we go away.
I love HIIT workouts and always feel so good after them, though sometimes I hate everything while I do them 😉
Have a wonderful stay with your parents!

How are you enjoying our weather!? 🙂
My mom and I do exercise DVDs together too! We did one just the other day!
I love HIIT workouts but they aren’t on the menu for me currently. Working up to them again!

I hope you’re having a wonderful time with your family in Jersey! I think it’s awesome that you manage to squeeze in workouts while on vacation too. I’m so bad about that. But this one looks like a killer combo!
Cheers to a happy holiday! 🙂

Well, I look at it like this: I’d rather fit in time to workout so I can feel like I earned eating all the extra cookies and drinking a lot of wine! Plus, I love how I feel after a good sweat session 🙂

Great HIIT workout! I HAVE been doing these kinds of workouts lately and I love them! HOWEVER! When I finally made it to the gym Monday for strength class, I was dead within 20 minutes. Shortening my workouts to 30-45 minutes the last 2 months really showed! BUT! I have NOT been working out as much as I usually do either b/c of getting a 2nd job…so time to get back to working out at least 5 times a week again! And i’m SO excited b/c I just found that Columbus DOES have the Classpass and the gym that has the LaGree method (along with purebarre studios and some other gyms i’ve been wanting to try) are all included! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO MEEEEEE! 🙂

Awesome!! I definitely think you should try out ClassPass. Let me know how you like it! Well, now is a great time to amp up your workout routine – go for it! 🙂
