Happy weekend everyone!
Since I was MIA over Thanksgiving, here I am chatting with you all on a Saturday evening, which is a rare occasion! Let’s back it up a few days, shall we?
Late afternoon on Wednesday I drove up to Long Beach to my cousin’s house. We had plans to do a 10K on Thanksgiving morning, and spent our night hanging out and having dinner and drinks at The Yard House:
Anyone who read my recent 5K recap is probably thinking, “What? A 10K? Wasn’t she just saying that she doesn’t enjoy running?”
Well, we actually just walked the 10K charity race, and it was great! It was right along the beach on a gorgeous day. I felt like I got some good low-impact exercise in, plus my calf and foot weren’t bothering me as they do with running.
I love starting Thanksgiving on an active note!
After that, I headed back to San Diego for a Friendsgiving party with my hubby. We’ve gone to our friends’ house for the last couple of years, and it’s always a great time. We ate, drank, and laughed a lot… and I was a bad blogger who took exactly zero pictures.
Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, we’re officially in the midst of holiday season madness… which means lots of shopping! I got a good head start on Christmas shopping for my loved ones parked in front of my computer for a couple of hours on Black Friday. I don’t typically do large crowds in the name of shopping, and love getting to shop and gets deals online while lounging on my living room couch! A couple of things on my own Christmas wish list include a spiralizer…

Chances are I’ll get a new pair of Brooks since they’ve been favorite in recent years. They feel so cushy and comfy! And then there are my standard favorite gifts: workout clothes and dresses. Here are a few things I’ve already picked out purchased with my mom’s credit card and shipped to her house so that she can give it to me on Christmas (That’s just sort of how my family rolls!):
Speaking of Christmas lists, there was one thing on my list that I got to scratch off early: wireless ear buds! Recently AT&T San Diego reached out to me to see if I’d be interested in trying out Plantronics BackBeat GO2 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones.
Here’s my usual gym situation: I listen to my iPhone, which I strap around my arm in a band that connects to headphones. I get kind of annoyed when I get all tangled in my headphones in the middle of a workout, particularly during rowing workouts, and I find myself having to pause my workout to readjust myself all too often. This is why the idea of trying out wireless headphones excited this fitness lover! Here are my thoughts on the ear buds:
I’ve been trying it out during hikes, and since the headphones wirelessly sync to your phone or audio device, I can just throw my cell phone in my backpack and not worry about it.
The buds connect behind your head with a strap, so while they’re not completely without wires, it’s nice to not have to worry about getting tangled up in my headphones.
I usually go for headphones with the little straps that hook behind my ears, so the only con for me is the fact that they’re buds. I just find that earbuds in general don’t stay in my ears all that wonderfully. However, the Plantronics headphones come with 3 different sizes of bud cushions, which helps in terms of comfort and proper sizing.
The headphones come with a charging case that hooks up to the wall like any of your electronics. What’s cool is that the earbuds work for up to 14.5 hours once charged. I haven’t used them quite enough to thoroughly test this theory out yet, but that’s a lot of workout time!
Overall, if you’re looking for a gift idea for the fitness enthusiast in your life, I would definitely recommend checking out Platronics BackBeat GO2 bluetooth headphones. The earbuds typically retail for $99 via AT&T’s online store, but at the moment, they’re discounted to $79. And in case you didn’t know, AT&T stores carry much more than just phones these days, so you might want to consider checking out their variety of audio products this holiday season!
Tell me… What’s on your wish list this holiday season? Have you ever used wireless headphones?
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary pair of Plantronics headphones from AT&T San Diego, but as always, all opinions expressed in this post are genuinely my own.

It sounds like you had a wonderful holiday! I did a 5k (walking lol) one thanksgiving and loved it. I really need to look into something like that for next year!

Yeah I definitely love doing a walk/run on Thanksgiving morning. It kinds of sets the tone for a fun day – one that includes a little bit more than just eating!

I’m glad you had a nice holiday! I’m jealous of all your time outside. Walking 6 miles sounds much more pleasant than running.
I really need some new headphones so I’ll have to check those out!

I’m actually planning on doing a wireless headphones giveaway this week. haha! Great mind! 🙂
I’m so jealous of the beautiful weather you had on Thanksgiving! It was so cold here. I’m so over this winter thing. I keep asking my husband when his job is going to move him to Cali. The unequivocal answer is never! 🙁 Glad you had an awesome day!

We definitely think alike 😉
Haha… you would fit right in here in Cali, just like I do! After moving here I immediately decided that I’m better as a west coast girl!

I just got one of the handheld spiralizers, but I kinda wish I had a huge one like that now! Maybe I will put that on my wish list too! It looks so nice and perfect at the beach! I think I would have walked that 10K too 🙂

Those headphones are awesome! One day…. 🙂
I love moscow mules when they shake them up a bit — the best one I’ve had was pear, so I can only imagine how delicious that peach cobbler one was! And I really can’t imagine a nicer walk than a 10K in San Diego 🙂

YES I think I should try to recreate it at home! Moscow Mules are a new love of mine.
