Hello friends! Hope that you all had a fabulous weekend.
I’m in a random kind of mood, so I’m going to share some rambling thoughts and recent happenings in my life with you tonight. Sound good? Let’s get started!
I’ve been meaning to mention this, but recently I became a FitFluential Ambassador! For anyone not familiar with FitFluential, it’s an awesome community of influential fitness enthusiasts, and was designed to connect health and wellness brands with their ideal target market through customized marketing campaigns. I applied to be a brand ambassador for them not long after I began blogging and wasn’t accepted, and last year I decided to apply again. Second time’s a charm! 🙂
I’ve been a juicing maniac lately. Between putting my juicer to work at home and picking up Evolution juices in my hotel every morning in Vegas, there have been lots of green monsters in my life and I’m loving it!
Last week while flying Virgin America (which I pretty much never do), I discovered that its terminal at the airport in San Fran has a yoga room. How awesome right? I had woken up so early to get to the airport, got through security, and then BOOM, I spotted a yoga room! I obviously spent the half an hour I had before my flight boarded to stretch and do some light yoga in it. It was awesome to do right before a flight and amongst the business of traveling. I vote for a yoga room in every terminal of every airport!
I went out with my co-workers to hibachi for the first time in quite awhile last week. It made me realize that I’m a big fan of it and I need to go again very soon for a date night!
Confession: I think my obsession withThe Following and all reality murder mystery shows on television is messing with my head friends. When I came home from the airport at 11:30 PM a few nights ago, my hubby hadn’t been answering his phone for a few hours. His car was in the garage, my dog was home, and he wasn’t sleeping, so I immediately assumed that he had been kidnapped or was hidden in a closet tied up with rope and duck tape. I wish I was kidding! I walked around with my taser opening doors and freaking out until he walked in the door from having dinner at a neighbor’s house — which, in my defense, he has never done before. Whew, close one!
I was quite the outdoorsy exerciser this weekend. On Saturday I went mountain biking, and today I went for an awesome hike at a new spot called Pinnacles National Park (recap to come later this week!).
Speaking of exercise, I’m currently on a hiatus from upper body workouts. Recently I tweaked my shoulder by reaching backwards awkwardly to plug in my iPad. With all of the exercising I do, I hurt myself plugging in a cord?! This may be a sign that I’m getting old. After some rest and a massage, I thought it had gone away, but a few days ago I woke up in a lot of pain and unable to move my arm over my head without wincing. It feels a little better now, but I’ll be forgoing any upper body strength training or rowing until it’s feeling a-okay. A massage may need to happen this week to help iron it out!
In case you were wondering, my long-standing pancake obsession has not ceased in the least bit. Both this morning and yesterday I made oatmeal banana pancakes and topped them with fresh strawberries and Just Great Stuff powdered chocolate peanut butter. So yummy and healthy!
And lastly, I’ll leave you with a picture of Harley during our afternoon playtime session a couple of days ago, just because she’s so damn cute.
Have you ever injured yourself doing something silly?
What are you obsessed with for breakfast?
Am I the only one who is warped in the head from watching too much Dateline and the I.D. Channel?
Meghan @ fitnesscrEATures says
Um, yes, I will sign that petition for a yoga room inside every terminal. That is #amazing.
Those pancakes look heavenly and I’d be on a kick of them too if I could make them look like that! <3

Ha, thanks! The pancakes are super simple to make: 1/4 cup whole wheat flour + 1/4 cup old fashioned oats + 1/2 banana + 1/4 cup almond milk + 1/2 TSP baking powder + a pinch of stevia & salt, all thrown in the blender until smooth. So easy and yummy!

THANK YOU! 🙂

Harley is so cute! Congratulations on becoming a Fitfluential ambassador. Sounds very cool!! That story about you coming home and not being able to find your husband is too funny. I can definitely relate. Some nights I get so scared for pretty much no reason. Maybe I watch too much scary TV too!
foodielovesfitness says
Thank ya, thank ya!
Well I’m glad that I’m not the only one who gets freaked out. Haha.
FitBritt@MyOwnBalance says
I love the yoga room in San Fran! It’s so cool!
I hope your shoulder feels better soon! I have definitely injured myself doing stupid things before! I’m still not certain how I hurt my foot last December!
I watch waaaaay too much detective/scary stuff. Sometimes when my husband is away for work I check the closets and behind the shower curtain! I’m so crazy!
foodielovesfitness says
Oh my gosh, I do that all the time when my hubby isn’t home. Especially when he has been deployed, I’d be checking closets saying to myself, “Get it together Nicole, there’s no one in here!” but I couldn’t help but do it anyways. We’re both creeps!! Hahaha.

OMG your dooooooog so beautiful! So congrats on your move i”m literally SO excited for you! There is no better place in the world than SD, but that’s just my opinion 🙂 So so happy for you guys. Do you know when you will be moving? I think I’m headed back to the midwest the last few days of May so I’m trying to get in one more trip to SD while I’m close and would love to meet up on the west coast! Also that yoga room….I can’t get over that. How forward-thinking! Congrats on being a Fitfluential ambassador…I was accepted too! So many exciting things happening for you 🙂
foodielovesfitness says
Awwww thank you, I’m a little biased but I think she is so beautiful too!
I couldn’t agree more, my hubby and I love it in San Diego. We should be moving around mid/end of May depending on a couple of things. That’d be awesome to meet up! Let’s chat about it again in a couple weeks.
WOOHOO my fellow FitFluential ambassador!! Yay!
Tara says
My best friend is trying to convince me to watch The Following but I am the biggest scaredy cat. Maybe during the summer (day time) I will try it out.
Also, boo on you for moving back down! Let’s meet up before you leave the Bay Area!
foodielovesfitness says
Haha Tara, the show is great but it really is freaky too! I keep DVRing the episodes, then watching them at midnight and having crazy nightmares.
Yes, we definitely should meet up sometime!! Let’s figure out a hang out soon.
Calista says
Pinnacles is lovely! I”m so glad you went. I would love a yoga room in my office {and every airport terminal}. Looks like you had a great weekend!
foodielovesfitness says
Yeah it really was a cool park! So glad I got to see it, and I’d love to go back sometime soon.
Jennifer says
Oh God yes, I sprained my ankle just walking down the street one time! It was so silly. I hope that your shoulder feels better asap.
foodielovesfitness says
Sometimes it’s the silly stuff that gets us I guess!
Brittney @ Sweets 'N' Greens says
Protein pancakes are definitely my go to…but lately I’m on a green smoothie for breakfast kick!
Hope your shoulder starts feeling better soon!
foodielovesfitness says
I love both of those choices! Those have pretty much been my favorite breakfast meals lately. Or a big ole bowl of fruit!
