Hi friends! Hope that you had a fabulous weekend and made it through your Monday nicely.
As I had hoped for, my weekend was pretty relaxing and uneventful. It included spending time with my hubby and puppy, getting a few work/school things done, watching football, running a few errands and cleaning my house. After being sore all of the last week from kickass workouts at the gym, I gave my body a few days to rest a bit with lower impact workouts. I went for an afternoon hike with my little family at the park down the street from us, Harvey Bear Ranch County Park.
Beautiful scenery as usual, though it’s still so yellow everywhere due to lack of rain in the Bay Area. I’m hoping we get a bit of rain so that I can see lots of green on my hikes sometime soon!
Why hello pretties.
I also did a 90-minute at-home yoga and stretching session one morning, which felt amazing. I did a combination of following a YouTube yoga video, doing my new Jillian Michaels Yoga Inferno DVD (review to come sometime soon!), and playing around on my own doing poses and stretches.
Since I like listening to music when I workout, I like to change my playlists up fairly often to keep it interesting. I’m constantly switching up my gym playlist, which has a lot of fast-paced songs to motivate me, but for awhile I hadn’t changed my playlist specifically for yoga and stretching. While on a plane ride last month, I threw together some slower songs to listen to while practicing yoga. A little bit of old stuff, a little bit of new… this playlist will get you through about an hour of downward dogs!
What’s your current favorite workout song(s)? How often do you switch up your playlists?

This is just straight-up awesome! I’ve been starting to do a self-guided practice at home but I can never figure out what to listen to! Thank you SO much!

Aww yay! I like this balance of faster paced songs with slower tunes for a yoga session.

I love this playlist! I sometimes listen to upbeat songs when I am doing more of a power yoga class and then I like chill songs for just stretching and relaxing. I need some more music so this is great!

I totally agree with you on that. As soon as my workout at the gym ends and my cool down and stretching starts, I change my playlist to chill songs. Just like to set the mood right for motivating me to push hard or cool it down!

I love listening to fast paced Bruno Mars songs at the gym! It always gets me ready to move (and dance!!)

Funny, I just downloaded Bruno Mars’ song “Young Girls” for my gym playlist!

We so need rain! I can’t believe how dry it is in the Bay area right now. I need to work out more, but I change my car playlist at least twice a month!

I know it’s crazy! And I think that SF has gotten more rain than my neck of the woods has. I seriously think it has rained 3 times since I moved here 10 months ago!

I seriously love to listen to Pitbull/ club music when I’m running, but I have never made a playlist for when I’m doing yoga at home (which is rare). But maybe making a yoga playlist would encourage me to do more yoga at home. Hmm. I am going to have check out some of these songs!

I also like club kind of music when I’m working out. Makes me want to move!
