[This post was written yesterday but published this morning.]
Hi there!
I’m blogging from the skies, as I’m currently in route from Seattle back to the San Francisco airport. My work trip was a short and fun one, and I’m happy that I’m heading back today because it’s my anniversary – four years of blissful marriage with my man! 🙂
Any who, when I arrived in Seattle on Monday morning, my co-workers and I met up, visited our client’s offices, then stopped by our client’s home to see where he lives. Check out the view he has from his house next to a lake:
Pretty pretty right?
After that, we headed downtown to explore. We spent a couple of hours in Pike Place Market, and I loved it there! The market had so many cute unique shops with works from local artists, plus lots of fun foodie spots and stores. I could definitely wander that market on a weekly basis!
I couldn’t resist picking up a couple little things at a store full of everything to do with pets, including this…
…and my boss and I tried bubble tea for the first time. Someone had recommended to try the tea with tapioca pearls. I was expecting the tapioca to be as in tapioca pudding, but instead they were these big black tapioca balls.
The tea was super yummy! I got a green apple flavor, and my boss tried watermelon. I thought the tapioca balls were interesting and tasty, but it dawned on me afterwards that they were kind of jelly-like. When I later Googled it, my suspicions were confirmed – they were gelatinous! Ick. I gave up consuming anything with gelatin a couple years ago when I found out just what it contains, so that was a bit of an oopsies. But what can I do, I had already enjoyed the tea so that’s that right?
We also visited the very first Starbucks. I’m not too much of a Starbucks person, but it was still neat to see an old-fashioned looking one knowing it was the first one created.
It seemed like Seattle has a ton of great food spots, and I know that they’ve got some big sports teams to be entertained by. The only thing I don’t think I’d enjoy is the weather. I obviously had heard that Seattle gets a ton of rain, but I didn’t quite expect the weather I experienced there: rainy and cold one minute, then sunny and beautiful the next. I couldn’t decide between my umbrella or my sun glasses!
People told me that summer there is gorgeous and not rainy, but I’m still not sure I’d want to deal with all of the rain the majority of the time. I suppose you just get used to it, but I can’t help but think that my mood would be affected by all of gloominess for weeks on end. Regardless, this trip made me realize that Seattle is a cool city that’s only a 90-minute flight away from San Francisco. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll book a last minute flight and go on a spontaneous weekend getaway there!

Oh my gosh!!! You haven’t been in my bloglovin feed and I thought you had taken a break from blogging! Ahhh. I have so much to catch up on!! I have totally dealt with these tech issues before. A plugin can definitely wrek havoc on your blog. I suggest getting on the phone with your server because when you just submit a query it takes them forever. Sometimes you can troubleshoot with them over the phone and I also google issues to see what other people are saying so I have a few key terms to throw at them when I have trouble.

Hey! Thanks for the suggestions! It was extremely annoying but now I think I got it figured out and fixed. WOOHOO!!

Ugh, yes. Behind the blog issues suck and I have no idea what MSQL or whatever is. I haven’t noticed any issues on your blog though!
Seattle is on my must-visit list but I don’t think I would be too crazy about the gloomy weather either. And I’ve never had bubble tea but it looks yummy! Minus the gelatinous black balls…that doesn’t sound very appetizing. Now I know not to drink that part, thanks!

Thanks Sarah, good to know! The error message seemed to randomly come up, so you must have checked my blog at good times. 😉
HAHA no, that does NOT sound appetizing! I thought they’d be cute little white tapioca balls, but not the case.
