When it comes to hydrating, I drink water like a crazy person. I always have a glass of water next to me at home, and my refillable water bottle on hand when I’m out. I constantly feel thirsty and if I don’t have water around, I realize it quickly. On nights when I drink alcohol, my water consumption gets a little ridiculous. What can I say, I suppose I’m like a camel!

I mostly drink just plain old water, but sometimes I like some flavor to my H20. I’ll either squeeze some lemon and add stevia sweetener or make green tea. Once in awhile I drink Crystal Light Pure, which is sweetened with sugar and truvia natural sweetener, but isn’t exactly an amazing health food. I definitely try to keep it natural and stay away from artificial sweeteners the vast majority of the time. I don’t think that drinking a diet coke here and there will kill me, but do think that artificial sweeteners have a lot of hidden dangers and side effects that aren’t good for us.
Given my water guzzling tendencies, when Ignite Naturals contacted me to try out one of their electrolyte products, I was all for it… especially after I read more about the company. Ignite Naturals prides themselves on choosing simple ingredients from whole, real food sources to provide 100% all-natural sports and active lifestyle nutrition products. The product line that I tried, IN Refresh Electrolytes, is designed for enhanced hydration support to provide the body with the natural fast-absorbing hydration properties of its plant ingredients. The product is non GMO, vegan and gluten free.
IN Refresh Electrolytes comes in four flavors: prickly pear, blueberry, dragonfruit lemon juice and tangerine passion fruit. Being a lover of sweetness, I obviously picked the flavor known as ”the sweeter one,” blueberry.
My first impression in trying the blueberry IN Refresh powder was that it tasted a whole lot like Crystal Light – sweet and fruity. The awesome difference is that the Ignite Naturals product is actually made with fruit: freeze dried cranberry, freeze dried organic coconut water, prickly pear extract and pomella. These ingredients, combined with aloe barbadensis, is what they call their ”hydration complex.” The product is sweetened with stevia, unprocessed cane sugar and lo han guo – which I had never heard of, but from what I can tell, is a natural sweetener from China.
Drinking a glass of IN Refresh post-dinner has become a norm for me since I received the product. Since it replenishes electrolytes and I usually exercise in the evening right before dinner, this is an ideal time for me to drink it. I also typically get a bit of a sweet craving right after dinner, so it helps to curb that too. Post kick-ass workout this evening, I’m actually drinking my daily glass as I write this blog post.
In regards to cost, a 30-serving container of one of these IN Refresh bad boys is $28.95. I did some research, and though it’s pricier than some brands out there (i.e. BodyTech electrolyte products), the cost is comparable to big names carried by the Vitamin Shoppe and GNC like Vega Sport’s electrolyte hydration powders and Gu Brew electrolyte drinks.
As far as the drink in terms of hydration, I can’t say that it’s made a real difference in my thirstiness that I can notice. But like I said, I don’t think I’m the average person in terms of water consumption. I’m just enjoying it as a healthy way to flavor my water on a daily basis, and the idea of it replenishing some lost electrolytes and minerals is an added perk.
Ignite Naturals offers a variety of other products, including natural energy shakes, a post-workout recovery formula, energy gels and weight management solutions. I’m a fan of theirs now, and just might try out some of their other products, stick with my all-natural sweet fix in their electrolyte drink or both! We are opposites on hydration….it is a constant struggle for me! I am NEVER thirsty and could go all day without drinking water. After researching a little, I read that that’s what the body does if you are chronically dehydrated…thirst mechanism stops working. I’ve got to do better at this! Great review…maybe I should give this a try!

Interesting, I can’t imagine that! Ha. You should try this! And have you ever seen the products out there to help you stay hydrated — either the marked water bottles where you make sure to drink a certain amount every few hours, or the wristband things where you move the ticks to the side every time you drink a glass of water to make sure you’re getting enough? You should try those too!

I’ve tried lots of things…sigh. I just need to do it!

If it makes you feel any better, always being thirsty gets really annoying!

Ignite Naturals is run by a global con man named Bruce Ransom. Investigate some of his history on the net. You could be setting people up to be defrauded by promoting these products.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. However, this post was simply about me trying a complimentary product from Ignite Naturals and giving my honest opinion of the product itself. It was not a paid endorsement, nor am I vouching for the integrity of the company and the people behind it.

That sounds honest, and nice, but Ransom’s habits have been to gain the trust of those who buy the products, and get them to invest money that they will never see again. He has done this for over 20 years. Please research and warn those who come to your site, that they should not allow him direct access to credit cards, or invest a dime.
Thank you so much,
Jenny
