Merry Christmas week to all off those that celebrate it! I'm popping in today to share a new interval training workout. I used to do HIIT routines all the time, and have recently gotten back into them. My favorite one has been my election hangover HIIT workout, and I figured it was time for a new sequence. With all of the holiday treats around, I've been making sure to squeeze in regular sweat sessions - even if that just means 30 minutes of cycling at home or a quickie kickboxing workout. This routine takes 40 minutes to complete, and the premise is simple: 10 rounds of 2 different exercises, and the tempo is 30 seconds of work with 10 seconds of rest. It's a routine that will efficiently work the entire body and keep you mentally engaged. I use 15 pound dumbbells, and any ... [Read More]

A Circuit Workout to Do Anywhere
*Fun news: I made a little cameo today talking about my experience volunteering at the Humane Society on one of the blogs I read often called PB Fingers! You can read it here.* Well my bags are packed, I'm ready to go... That is, if you consider this being packed and ready to go: As usual, I've grossly underestimated how much time and effort goes into me packing for a substantial amount of time! I'm not sure if this is totally nutty, but when I pack I feel the need to try everything on, lay it all out, then match everything with shoes, jewelry, and underwear (is this normal?!). Now I'm back home, procrastinating packing even more and blogging instead. ... [Read More]
A Workout to Do Anywhere

We all know people who are constantly making excuses for themselves when it comes to these things. The fact of the matter is that we're only human, and life can get hectic. But it's not about being perfect, always eating nutritiously, and never missing a workout or drinking one too many cocktails. What it is about is consistently making your health a priority. Nobody said it's easy, but I happen to believe it's worth the effort. Don't be one of those people who is always justifying their unhealthy behaviors. Stop making excuses, and just start doing! Between work, the normal craziness of my day, and a dinner ... [Read More]
At Home Workout & Vanilla Pumpkin Smoothie
I spent my afternoon wine tasting with a group of military wives at a winery in Escondido. The wife who set the whole get together up had a really good idea of making it a sort of Valentine's Day celebration. She had all the husbands tell her their nicknames for their wives, and then she painted the names onto wine glasses that we tasted with and got to keep. I also got a handwritten letter from Adam and a flower. So cute! The winery had a pretty backdrop: Not a bad way to spend part of my Sunday! Today's Workout I don't always like to hit up the gym to exercise, especially on weekends. This morning I decided to do a workout at home and came up with a total body routine. It took me around 20 minutes to complete this first part, and all you need is a set of light ... [Read More]
