The following post is sponsored by Puritan’s Pride, but as always, all opinions expressed are genuinely my own.
Hello friends, and Happy Friday!
Today I’ve got a fun recipe and a giveaway to share with you guys! So we all know that smoothies are a great way to pack in lots of goodness into one delicious drink, but sometimes we all get into a rut of making the same ones over and over. Even though I like to get creative in the kitchen, heaven knows that I can get in the habit of making the same smoothie combo a gazillion times in a row!
That’s why I’m partnering with Puritan’s Pride, a maker of high-quality nutritional supplements and healthy foods, over the next three months to put some pizzazz in my smoothies. I’m using their protein powders and superfoods-based products to sneak in more goodness, making my smoothies more nutritious than ever. Each month, I’ll be sharing a superfood-packed smoothie and doing a giveaway of Puritan’s Pride goodies. And Puritan’s Pride and I would love to hear about the seasonal smoothie recipes you’re whipping up too!
We’re kicking off October with the theme of – what else? – pumpkin! Pumpkin is a superfood partly because it’s high in Vitamin A and potassium. This is the time of the year when pumpkin obsession is in full swing for food lovers all over, and I’m certainly not complaining since I can’t get enough pumpkin lately either. So why not incorporate some of this fall favorite into a smoothie?
Ingredients for this smoothie recipe include Puritan’s Pride All Natural Vegan Protein Chocolate with Quinoa and Oats, frozen banana, pumpkin puree, NOW Foods Carob Powder, pumpkin Greek yogurt for some added creaminess (though you can leave it out or use plain or vanilla yogurt instead), and my ever favorite ingredients, cinnamon and dark chocolate chips.
Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Protein Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup chocolate almond milk any kind of milk works
- 1/2 scoop Puritan's Pride vegan chocolate protein powder
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup pumpkin Greek yogurt optional, and vanilla or plain yogurt works too
- 1/4 TSP cinnamon
- 1 TBSP dark chocolate chips
- 1 TBSP carob powder
- Ice
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except the chocolate chips in a blender. Blend until smooth, then add the chocolate chips, and pulse a few times until chips are chopped but still chunky. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
And now… IT’S GIVEAWAY TIME!
One lucky reader will win:

Um is there a better combo than pumpkin + chocolate chip? No, didn’t think so! This looks great girlie, can’t wait to try it out!
foodielovesfitness says
Totally agreed! I just ate pumpkin Green yogurt with chocolate chips actually. Best autumn combo ever!
Daniela @ FoodrecipesHQ says
I just a tasty coconut and pineapple smoothie. To get the right consistency I added a frozen banana (which I am not fan of). I would have liked to make a pumpkin smoothie but unfortunately it seems that pumpkin puree is sold out everywhere. Thanks for introducing us to Puritan’s Pride products, I love learning about new nutrient rich powders.
foodielovesfitness says
Thanks, Daniela! Interesting that pumpkin puree is hard to come by near you.
Sarah says
Chocolate and pumpkin are so good together! This looks scrumptious.
And that’s awesome that you’re doing a giveaway every month! It sounds like a great protein. I like that they use whole ingredients like oats and quinoa too.
foodielovesfitness says
Me too! So many protein powders have crappy ingredients in them. Sometimes I go crazy looking for a certain type of protein, because almost every type at the store will have sucralose. No thank you!
Alyse says
Oh YUM! I have a serious weakness for pumpkin chocolate combinations – this looks like a scrumptious, healthy alternative to the muffin form I usually eat those flavors in. 😉

Pumpkin in a smoothie? Why have I not thought of that? I am going to have to try that. I want pumpkin in everything at the moment.
foodielovesfitness says
Oh my gosh, you need to do it then! It’s like a liquid pumpkin pie when you combine it with cinnamon, pecans and some creamy type of milk.
